And so ends another season of Oxford lacrosse. Despite an uncertain start and a mid-season wobble, we managed eventually to turn ourselves into a decent match-winning side. Our new captain has a good basis on which to build as we enter a new league structure.

Travelling en-mass to the cold, windy tab homeland a large Oxford squad recorded a dominant league victory over their light blue counterparts. Straight from the off, Oxfords experienced first midfield string ripped into the tabs with Howie netting two without answer in the first five minutes as the pace and skill of the Blues proved too much for the tab midfield. This was to set the tone for the day with Oxford's experienced american trio of Chris, Tie and Ben tormenting the opposition defence and only Cambridge's scotland-hopeful goalie keeping the score respectable.
Saturday saw the men's lacrosse team travel to Birmingham to compete in a midlands BUSA tournament hoping to better their second place finish last year. Things started well with a 5-1 win over Birmingham before stuttering slightly against a fired-up Loughborough side who took an early lead before the blues began to assert their dominance. A string of saves from the Loughborough goalie kept the score 1-1. Next up was a hotly anticipated clash with Cambridge that never lived up to its billing - the dark blues running out comfortable 4-0 victors.

Welcome to the OULC website, and if you're new, welcome to Oxford. We're currently looking for new players to join our team, so if you're interested get in touch with me or come along to one of the training sessions. Details of when we play are available on the training page.
Men's lacrosse is a Discretionary Blue sport in Oxford. This means that everybody who plays in the Varsity Match (versus Cambridge in March) receives at least a Half-Blue, with up to four people receiving a Full-Blue at the captain's discretion. We are one of the oldest lacrosse clubs in the country, and were the first sport in Oxford to be awarded a Half-Blue, playing our first Varsity Match against Cambridge in 1903.
We are currently in the SEMLA East Division 1. For more information about the league, visit the SEMLA website.

Welcome to the Oxford University Women’s Lacrosse Club, one of the highest
achieving clubs at the University, which is awarded a Full Blue. The Women’s
Blues have not only won their Varsity match in the 2007-2008 season, but are
also champions of the BUSA South Premier League and have been semi-finalists in
the BUSA championships for the past three years, placing them among the top four
university teams in the country. The Women’s Second Team (the Swifts) are equally
successful in the Southern First division, beating teams such as Nottingham.
